Some friends of Plywood People have had the most creative, collaborative, philanthropic wedding idea I have ever heard of. Cindy Simmons of Star 94 is getting married, and neither she nor her groom-to-be felt they needed anything more to start their life together. After battling breast cancer over the last year, they had a lot of gratitude for the people and organizations that helped them through, and they wanted to give back.
They registered for their wedding, but all for things that women who are being helped by Wellspring Living can use. Wellspring Living exists to create restorative environments for victims of childhood trauma, whether it be for those rescued from human trafficking or sexual abuse. Their registry at Target are all items that will be given to the women at Wellspring. Or money can be given to the Young Survival Coalition, which supports young women battling breast cancer. We love this.
Additionally, their photographer is our good friend, Andy Brophy of OneNine Images. OneNine Images came up with the idea to use the wedding day as a platform to shed light and impact the everyday lives of these girls who are trapped in a world so different from that picture: sex trafficking. The hope is that one day these girls may be restored and someday experience what true love looks like. With his special “Love Gives Way” package where $500 will be donated to Wellspring Living to fight human trafficking.
Ok, enough information for you. Check out the links, and find out more about these unique ideas to address needs in your community!
